These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access the Lane Switch website, download, install, purchase, or use the Lane Switch macOS app and related updates (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service
Lane Switch is a macOS window switcher with window search, recent-window switching, current-app switching, a sidebar, and related settings. The app needs macOS Accessibility permission to read window titles, identify window state, and perform window switching. Except for third-party services needed for website purchasing, downloads, and updates, Lane Switch primarily indexes, searches, and ranks window information locally on your device.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you use Lane Switch on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
3. License and Restrictions
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable purchase, Lane Switch grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable perpetual-use license for use on Macs you own or control. Unless allowed by law or by written permission from Lane Switch, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, bypass technical restrictions, remove ownership notices, resell purchase rights, or use the Service in a way that harms the Service, other users, or third parties.
4. Purchases, Pricing, and Refunds
Lane Switch purchases are processed by Paddle Checkout. Prices, currencies, taxes, and payment methods may vary based on your location and what Paddle displays at checkout. After purchase, Paddle sends the payment receipt to the email address used at checkout. A purchase is a one-time license, does not automatically renew, and does not require a long-term account. Refund requests are handled under applicable law, Paddle policy, and Lane Switch purchase terms in effect at the time.
5. Updates and Availability
Lane Switch may release feature improvements, bug fixes, and security updates from time to time. The current one-time purchase is not invalidated by ordinary app updates. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we may change system requirements. We try to keep the Service stable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every specific purpose.
6. Privacy and Local Data
Lane Switch is designed to keep window-related data on your Mac wherever practical. The app reads window titles and state to provide search and switching. Purchases, downloads, website visits, and app updates may involve Paddle, download hosting, Sparkle update feeds, or other necessary third-party services, which process required data under their own policies.
7. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for configuring macOS permissions, securing your device and purchase information, and ensuring that your use complies with applicable laws and workplace requirements. Do not use Lane Switch to access, process, or disclose information you are not authorized to handle, or to interfere with the Service, checkout, or download channels.
8. Intellectual Property
Lane Switch, the website, app interface, name, graphics, code, and related materials are owned by their respective rights holders. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Lane Switch or related materials to you; they only grant the limited license described above.
9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. You are responsible for deciding whether Lane Switch fits your workflow and for keeping appropriate backups and alternatives for important work.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lane Switch and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or work interruption. If Lane Switch is liable to you, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Lane Switch.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new update date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
